PROTECTION AGAINST DEBT THE DU’AH FOR
It is narrated in Abu Dawud that one day the Nabi (saw) saw a man whose name was Abu Umamah sitting in the masjid at a time when there was no waqt for any salah. The Nabi (saw) asked him why he was sitting there and he replied: “I have debts and a lot of worries”. The Nabi (saw) said to him: “Should I not teach you a du’ah that will remove these difficulties for you? Recite in the mornings and evenings:

In Bukhari it is also narrated that
the Nabi (saw) used to make the following du’ah in the salah:
ا للَّهُمََّ إَِنَِّ يَ أَ عُ وَذَُ بَِ كَ مَِ نَ اَل مأ ث مَِ وال مغ رمَِ
ALLAHUMMA INNI A’UDHU BIKA MINAL MA’THAMI WAL MAGHRAM.
Translation: O Allah, I seek your protection from sin and from debt.
Someone said to the Nabi (saw): You always make du’ah for the protection against debt! He replied: “If someone is in debt, he speaks and then lies; he makes promises and then breaks them”.
